If you already have a ticket for the vienna public transport, you only need buy a ticket from the edge of Vienna (Stadtgrenze) to Gablitz - cost 1.50. Otherwise it costs 3. Get out at Gablitz Gemeindeamt. This will be after about 25 minutes, Keep your eyes open for Gablitz - you should see the placename on the roadsign - it is just past Purkersdorf. Once in Gablitz, the bus travels along the main road, which is quite long. When you see the yellow sign for the Raiffaisenbank on the right hand side of the road it is the next bus stop - press the button there to signal you want to get out. When you get out, cross the road at the pedestrian traffic lights, and continue down the small side road , down the hill from the main road. At the end of this road, you will see a SCHLECKER opposite. Our appartment is in this building, directly above Schlecker. You can go into the yard at behind the house and if we're not there, give us a buzz..... (could be that the bell doesn't work - if no response, phone me!) --
Driving Instructions:
-- From Vienna, take the road towards the Westautobahn A1. Go as far as the start of the motorway, but DON'T GET ON THE MOTORWAY. Bear left on the main B1 road, towards purkersdorf. Stay on the B1 straight on, leaving Vienna, entering then leaving Purkersdorf, staying on that same road (follow signs to Gablitz or Tulln). After Purkersdorf, you will enter Gablitz. When you see the Raiffaisen bank on the right hand side (big yellow sign), turn immediately left (opposite the bank) down the Hauptstrasse. In a couple of hundred metres, you will see the SCHLECKER on the left side. There are parking spaces all around - beware though, one or two of them are limited parking, so watch where you stop. See above for rest! Don't worry if you miss the Hauptstrasse - keep going along the main road, and take the next left, that will also bring you out at SCHLECKER . --
Recommended Equipment:
-- Hiking boots - it may be muddy it looks like the weather will not be wintry.... just bring suitable clothes for the weather you expect. A small bottle of water is recommended, and maybe a small torch, in case we spend too long in the restaurant... --
