Description:
A nice mountain beside Schneeberg. Starting from Kaiserbrunn (Höllental, 526m) via Friedrich-Haller-Haus (1.250m) to Krummbachstein (1.568m) and back the same route. Great views to Höllental, Rax, Schneeberg and the mountains around. Sometimes steep, but not dangerous. Also suited for children who are able to walk for some hours (if they do not want to continue to the summit, they can stay at the hut; around the hut is a big meadow and wood). Appr. 5 hours.

Meeting and ending point:
Kaiserbrunn, parking lot opposite of "Alpengasthof zum Kaiserbrunnen".
Meeting time: 9.00 a.m.
Ending time: back at Kaiserbrunn at appr. 4.00 p.m., actual ending time depening on our social drink there or at Reichenau.

Route and length of activity: About 5 hours
Kaiserbrunn > Friedrich-Haller-Haus 2,5 hrs, FHH > Krummbachstein 1/2 h, back to the hut 1/2 h, back to Kaiserbrunn 1,5 hrs.

Grade of difficulty: Intermediate
Technically not difficult, not dangerous, but partly steep and stony.
Backpacks can be left at the hut during the walk to the summit (take along only what you need for that time, e.g. drinks). People can also stay at the hut without going on to Krummbachstein as we take the same route back.

Car connections: 97km from Vienna/City.
Wien - Südautobahn A2 - Exit Seebenstein - Semmering-Schnellstraße S6 - Gloggnitz - B27 - Reichenau a.d. Rax - Hirschwang - Kaiserbrunn. Kaiserbrunn is situated appr. in the middle of Höllental, 3,3 km from Hirschwang.
Car sharing: Anybody needing or offering car sharing please contact me: 0699 135 16 232. I'll coordinate that.

Equipment: Apart from the usual alpine gear sturdy hiking boots are strongly recommended since the trail is partly rather stony.

If the weather report is bad, please enquire if the trip will take place! (0699 135 16 232)
