Event Planning Sheet!!!

Name of Event: Reisalpe Muckenkogel, 20th of August 2000

Nice walk, not dangerous, not too difficult, not to high, 5 hours hiking, nice view from Traisner Huette and surrounding to "Voralpen" (higher mountains to the south).

Route:  Lilienfeld (383 m) - Muckenkogel (1248 m) - Traisner Huette (1311 m) - Early Lunch there - Rotenstein (1126 m) - lift station - Lilienfeld (down by chair lift).

Starting Point: Railway Station Lilienfeld (or in Gasthaus  which uses the same parking lot) 

Meeting Time:  9:00 am 

Ending Point: Same and starting point.

Elevation Change, length of walk in hours/kilometers: Approx 5 hours, approx. 15 km and 900 meter elevation change.

Car Connections: 
Motorway A1 (Westautobahn) Vienna - St. Poelten, then exit St. Poelten Sued, road nr. 20 (Direction Mariazell) until Lilenfeld, approx. 23 km from St. Poelten.
Turn left for the center of Lilienfeld, after a few meters turn right, after some hundred meters there is the railway station on the right-hand-side.

If you can offer car sharing, please do so.  Public transport is very poor to Lilenfeld.  Call Peter, Monika or Tim and we will try to arrange something.

Equipment Needed: Appropriate gear (mountain boots, backpack, snacks and 1l of water, etc) will be required.  GOOD HIKING SHOES! We will use only marked paths, no climbing involved.

If we want to finish our trip early (rain or bad weather) we could visit the Zdarsky Museaum in Lilenfeld.  Zdarsky was the founder of Alpine Skiing (Telemark).
