Route:
Saturday: Arthurhaus (1502 m) above Mühlbach am Hochkönig - Matrashaus at the summit of Hochkönig (2941 m), stay overnight.

Sunday: Hochkönig - Arthurhaus.

Arthurhaus - Hochkönig appr.
1500 m height difference, appr. 5-6 hrs.
Hochkönig - Arthurhaus appr. 4-5 hrs.
Some hours walking (partly steep), possibly a little glacier (no crevasses, practically snow with some ice) and an easy "Klettersteig" for the last 100 meters to the summit.
High alpine tour, but an easy one (for this height). (W2, H)
Meeting point and ending point: Parking place of Arthurhaus ( = a few street kilometers above Mühlbach am Hochkönig)
Meeting time: 22nd July, 12.30 a.m. (arrival of Bundesbus from Bischofshofen? Yet to be looked up)

There is only in the afternoon a Bundesbus from Bischofshofen to Arthurhaus. This is too late for us. So people coming by train please give a notice. Perhaps we can collect them from train station Bischofshofen.
Or some people coming by train can share a taxi.

Equipment needed: Usual equipment for hiking at alpine regions with stay overnight at a hut. E.g.: Solid hiking shoes (withstanding some moisture), raincoat, pullover, drinking bottle, some food, suncream, sun glasses, cap or hat, perhaps light gloves, clothes for changing, slippers, inner sleeping bag (two linens or special makes), toilet bag, flashlight.Temperature at the summit can be nice or near 0 degree Celsius.
Additional Remarks
Matrashaus is among the huts on top of a summit, the highest in Austria. On a clear day we will have a literally 360° panoramic view from Lower Austria to Tyrol!
