Alpenverein Membership
To participate in our hikes and other events you need to be a member of the Alpenverein (Austrian Alpine Association).
The membership of the Alpenverein has great advantages:
1) Insurance
- You have an excellent insurance for in the mountains
The insurance is also valid for all your other holidays and trips.
Mountain rescue and helicopter included.

2) Discounts
- Discount on sleeping places in mountain huts
- You can buy cheap main meals in mountain huts
- You can buy cheap hot tea water in mountain huts
Membership fees
Full membership is only € 76 per year (for year 2024).
Junior, Student, Senior and Partner membership (up to 27 years and 65 years and older) is only € 60 per year (for year 2024).
Membership is only available on a calendar year basis. There is no membership per month or per half year. Sorry.
From the 1st September of each year, you can join by paying the membership fee for the following year and get the rest of the current year for free.
