Dürrenstein - Ybbstalerhütte from Lunz am See (2 days) on 17 October 2026

Day 1: Lunz am See to Ybbstalerhütte via Dürrenstein

Route: We start our ascent from Lunz am See (600 m), climbing up and over the panoramic summit of Dürrenstein (1,878 m), before descending to our accommodation at the Ybbstalerhütte (1,344 m).

Duration: Approx. 7 hours of hiking.

Day 2: Peak bagging & descent to the Lake

After the breakfast, we can also reach out Noten, and then descend through Lechnergraben back down to Lunzer See.

Duration: Approx. 6 hours of hiking

The hike is long and involves considerable altitude difference up and down Therefore it is suitable for hikers with good fitness and brisk pace.

A deposit will be collected from the participants in advance.

The event can be canceled/postponed in case of bad weather.

The preference is by car, if there are enough registered drivers.

Otherwise, public transport option is also possible.
