What will we see:
Let’s discover together the charming valley of the Thaya river along the Czech border. We will see green valleys, old castle ruins and in Retz also historical windmill and will climb to the Rathaus tower (optional).
Difficulty:
The hike is rather easy, as the elevation is not big. So even though it is 20 km, the netto hiking time should be some 5,5 h.
Logistics:
Hike will start in the town of Hardegg and finish in Retz, from where trains are leaving to Vienna every hour.
Please bring enough food, as there will not be any restaurant before we get to Retz. Upon concluding the hike, we can go and have a proper meal in Retz - optional, depending on the time and mood. :-)
Transport:
by train, we will leave Vienna approx. at 8:00. Kindly take care of your own ticket to Retz. From there we take a taxi to Hardegg, as the connection by public transport is very bad. Cost: aprox. 7 E/pp. Details later upon registration. Return to Vienna earliest 18:30, more probable 19:30.
