Description :

For the third time we meet to practice out abseiling and ascending skills. You will be able to try out abseiling on almost any device (a gri-gri, a tuber/reverso, a figure eight, a munter hitch on a carabiner or even a South African abseil) and ropes of various diameters (from thin half rope to bulky and stiff single). You will be able to try out how a 60m abseil feels. You will have an opportunity to practice ascending on autolocking knots and using ascenders.

Important remarks:

This is not a course. You have to know how to abseil to attend this event.
The even will take place either on Saturday or Sunday depnedning on the weather.
The exact place will be decided based on the weather but it will be something around Vienna (e.g. Modling or Hohe Wand)

Technical requirements :

T3, I feel fine in difficult technical conditions and have mountain experience. I can manage to climb up and down without a rope on routes of climbing difficulty UIAA grade 1+

Physical requirements :

K2, 4-7 hours / day; up and down

compulsory: helmet, harness; bring if you have: all locked carabiners, two prusik loops, two longs slings, abseiling device

Transport Details :

We will figure out transport details based on the location and availbility of cars (e.g. Moedling is perfectly reachable by public transport while for Hohe Wand we will rather use cars).
