Medium difficulty hike by public transport from Hellenental through Hoher Lindkogel and Neuhaus to Weissenbach a.d. Triesting. To make it more fun we can make it a gluhwein marathon as we have two mountain huts -  one at Hoher Lindkogel and Peilsteinhuette (optional detour but why not) - plus an advent market at Neuhaus castle on the way. Neuhaus castle is one of my favourite places and is seldom open so I cannot miss it. And doing it in a nice company is perfect plan for the day.

The route will be 16.5 km with only about 750 elevation gain, so perfect for the cold and dark season. Note that this hike has mutiple up and downs. See the link below for the approximate route.

No need to bring heavy sturdy hiking boots, approach shoes or soft hiking boots are good as the trail is a mix of forest roads, forest trails and paved roads.

I plan for Saturday, the hike can be postponed to Sunday if the weather is a disaster on Saturday. The route is quite adaptable.

T1, I can move myself surefootedly on trails and narrow foot-paths

by bus and train, will be communicated to the registered parcticipants ahead of the hike. Departure from Vienna at about 8am
