Easy full day hike in Burgenland with a historical touch
Note: This hike is being organised by a new member in our group, Veronika, who is also a professional tour guide.
Meeting:
9:15 at Hauptbahnhof, the train Rex 65 departs from platform 8 A-B at 9:23.
Program:
10:26 - arrival to Eisenstadt. Short walk around the Esterhazy Palace and garden, if it will be open.
11:30 - 17:00 hike in the Laithagebirge. We pass various lookout towers, like Jubiläumswarte and Eichkogelwarte. Nice forests, caves and views over the city of Eisenstadt. Break for snack included, please bring your own food and drinks.
17:31 - train Rex 65 back to Vienna, arriving at 18:37 at Hauptbahnhof. If we finish earlier, we can catch an hour earlier train. If we feel like have a meal and glass of wine in a local tavern, we can take an hour later train (18:31)
