Update 6.7.2025: Weather forecasts for Monday are still indicating that there will be rain (maybe heavy) in the morning but by early afternoon it should stop raining, and there should be some sun by late afternoon. So, at the moment, I am not cancelling the event. If by mid afternoon (about 3pm) it is not looking as though the weather will improve then I will cancel - this will be shown on this webpage and I would send a mail to all those registered.
Starting time: from approx 17.30 (coming later is no problem!)
Edit 30.6.2025: As the city of Vienna has announced a fire ban today, it will not be possible to have a barbeque, but we will still meet for a picnic. So, bring a picnic with you instead of something to put on the grill. Apart from that, all the details remain the same.
Bring: a blanket or chair, drinks & eats (not for the barbeque!), swimming costume + towel!
Enjoy an evening out with “that English speaking bunch” from Alpenverein Austria.
Plus: Early evening views of the Leopoldsberg across the Danube, maybe a swim, and lots of fun.

What to bring:
Drinks — Picnic – Salads – Snacks — Maybe something to share. Please also bring any cutlery, crockery (or paper plates) etc that you may need.
Suncream, sunglasses, sunhat etc (depending on weather)
Comments:
Whatever you need for a swim. Mosquito repellent might be useful and rain gear (depending on weather forecast) just in case! ???
Doubtful weather??? If the weather is bad, the event will be cancelled. This will be announced on this page, and registered participants will be informed by mail.
In case of cancellation, there will NOT be an alternate date. Our reservation valid on this date only.
Membership in Alpenverein is NOT required: Bring your friends, kids, grandpa & grandma, aunts & uncles, cousins and anybody else interested in speaking English, having fun, eating and drinking, swimming, and much conversation.
There is NO regular monthly meeting in the Rotenturmstrasse in July.
Registration is not mandatory for this event, but if you register, you will be informed by mail if there are changes in plans due to the weather/any other reason. Changes will also be posted on this tripsheet.
