Description :

Let's start the new year with a gentle hike on a supposedly sunny day on Kieneck (in Vienna fog and clouds are forecasted) where fantastic views come together with delicious food (I don't know anyone who wouldn't lover their desserts).

There will be some snow and possibly also some ice. I doubt we will need snow shoes but ice spikes (Groedel) should definitely land in the rucksack.

Technical requirements :

T1, I can move myself surefootedly on trails and narrow foot-paths

Physical requirements :

K1, 2-4 hours / day; up and down

3-3.5 hours plus time at the hut, 650 m

Equipment :

warm clothes, sun protection and sun glasses, snacks and drinks, ice spikes, head lamp (just in case)

Transport Details :

It is an hour drive form Vienna.

I would start from Vienna at around 9:00 (negotiable).
