Blooming of wild daffodils is delayed because of the cold weather and will take place around the end of May. So the hike is postponed to Sunday 28th May.
Hike from St. Aegyd am Neuwalde to Paulmauer (1247m) /Türnitzer Alpen.
On the way we will pass meadows blooming with wild white daffodils: Dichter-Narzissen (Narcissus poeticus). Great view to surrounding mountains from the summit.
Route: St. Ägyd (647m) - Zdarsky-Hütte (1062m) - Grabenalm (blooming meadows) - Paulmauer (1247m) - and back. Lunch break in the open air or on our way back at Zdarskyhütte. If we like to hike longer than 4 hours in all (we will decide that on the spot) we could continue to Linsberg (1238m) - Gschwendhütte (1027m) and have lunch there (whole trip about 5 1/2 hours then) or splitting the group and meeting later in the afternoon at Zdarskyhütte. Will all depend on weather, blooming flowers, photographic interests, our physical shape and liking. Bring snacks and drinks anyway so we are flexible.
Meeting time and place:
9:30 a.m. at Spar-Markt: Main Street, opposite of Augasse, at bus stops, before the green signpost "Gasthof zum Niederhaus - 50m", on the left hand side.
Please give me a note, if you have special interest in photographing the flowers.
