Vienna Woods winter hike (Sophienalpe) with Punschdrinking at 'Häuserl am Stoan' on 15 December 2024

A four-hour- walk in total  (with a leisurely start in the morning) up & across Sophienalpe and on to 'Häuserl on Stoan', where there is an opportunity for plenty of Punsch & cake etc, as it's only another half hour down towards Sievering, from where we return to the city by bus/ public transport. Alternatively, if more walking and less alcohol appeals, and onward walk to Hermannskogel and Grinzing is also possible (this would add another 1 1/2 to 2 hours).
