"Recognize and Avoid Avalanches"
For Ski mountaineers - Snowboarders - Snowshoe hikers
In this course, you will learn the basics of modern avalanche theory developed by Werner Munter ("3x3") and used as the basis for the Alpenverein system "Stop or Go". The theory of basic avalanche awareness and risk-management (i.e. standard operating procedures) to utilize while planning and touring will be presented on Wednesday 15th January at 18.30 and again on the scheduled day in the mountains.

The theory evening, which is a part of this course, will take place on Wednesday 15th Jan at 18.30 at the Alpenverein Austria, Rotenturmstraße 14, 1010 Vienna.
Note: Requirements: ST2, K1-2, some experience in ski mountaineering or snowshoeing, interest in improving independent and self-assured actions
