Gemeindealpe - Ötschergräben on 20 October 2024

A long autumn colors hike (1100m downhill and a bit up), combining a beautiful gorge with waterfalls, an old narrow-gauge railway and a few historical watermills. There and back with Mariazellerbahn, beautiful but slow, so the start will be early.

We will take a chairlift to the top of Gemeindealpe, then descend to the gorge, walk a bigger part of it, then a bit up for another view, and return to the same railway line.

The hike might be shifted to Saturday, if the weather demands it.

Chairlift and trains, early start to use the daylight.

Cost of transportation: €18,50 for the chairlift (free with NÖ Card); all trains €33,8 with Vortelscard or €57,4 full price. Group tickets are not available for this line, unfortunately.
