A public transport hike from Gutenstein in the Piesting valley to Puchberg, at the foot of Lower Austria's highest mountain, the Schneeberg, taking us over part of the Dürre Wand. If time, conditions and the energy levels of our participants allow, we will also go to admire the views at the top of the Öhler, after a short lunch break in the Öhlerhaus (assuming they are open and have space for us), and could even consider the whole Öhler-Schober crossing if we're feeling really adventurous (and fit!)
I don't expect much snow, but it may be icy, so I would recommend bringing spikes (Grödel) and/or hiking poles. Bring plenty of layers of clothing, hat, gloves, scarf etc as it is likely to be relatively cold, and of course usual hiking equipment. Please also bring some snacks, hot and cold drinks etc.
The details may be changed, depending on weather/conditions etc, at the discretion of the organiser.
