"Recognize and Avoid Avalanches"
For Ski mountaineers - Snowboarders - Snowshoe hikers
In this course, you will learn the basics of modern avalanche theory developed by Werner Munter ("3x3") and used as the basis for the Alpenverein system "Stop or Go". The theory of basic avalanche awareness and risk-management (i.e. standard operating procedures) to utilize while planning and touring will be presented on Friday 12th January at 18.30 and again on the scheduled day in the mountains.

Note: Requirements: ST2, K1-2, some experience in ski mountaineering or snowshoeing, interest in improving independent and self-assured actions

Until the 12th December only active members of the Alpine Club Vienna may register for this course. After this date, if there are still places available, registrations will be opened to other Alpenverein members.
