The Ötscher - Rauher Kamm is a scenic ridge climb (hiking and scrambling) to the peak of Ötscher (1893m). Our route will take us along a steep forest trail to the ridge of Ötscher: the Rauher Kamm. Before the ridge, we can choose to make a small detour to visit the two caves of Ötscher: the Taubenloch and the Geldloch. After this detour, we start our scramble up the Rauher Kamm (Difficulty level I, II-) to the peak of Ötscher. On the descent, we will follow the trail towards the Ötscherschutzhaus and then head down to the valley.
Please note that we will not be taking the chair lift down, as my dog will be joining us, so you should have some reserves left for the descent.
The event will only take place in dry, stable conditions. In case of rain, snow or ice, the event will be postponed or cancelled.
Pre-requisite: Experience hiking in tricky terrain, steady footing and a head for heights, as well as good condition is required. While the ridge route is not technically difficult, there are some scrambling (I, II-) sections and exposed passages.
