Description :

Public transport hike (train - frequent connections).

The first part follows the cycling path through the vineyards around Retz (tarmac, I am afraid, so please only register if you are happy to walk on this sort of surface for approx. 1 1/2, it's still very scenic); after crossing the border we descend to the bank of the river Thaya and follow it for another 3-4 hours to the very attractive town of Znaimo.

I'm planning quite an early start in order to have some time to look around in Znaim.

Technical requirements :

T2, Rough areas, broken rocks and boulder fields are not a problem for me. I am sure-footed and free of dizziness

Physical requirements :

K2, 4-7 hours / day; up and down

Equipment :

good walking shoes boots; the usual day hike equipment, lunchtime supplies! (no hut or inn until Znaim)
