Overnight hike on Hochschwab on 05 August 2023

2 day hike (we go up on the 5th and back down on the 6th) 

The hike start at Gasthof Bodenbauer (1:45 drive from Vienna - 884 m). We go up via Trawiesalm, 1234 m – G`hacktbrunn, 1785 m – G`hacktes – Fleischer-Biwakschachtel, 2153 m – Hochschwab, 2277 m. In total it is roughly 1.400 m up. The ‘G`hacktes’ is an easy Ferrata (A/B level) with fixed ropes and a steel ladder. Overnight we stay at  Schiestelhaus, 2156 m – a very modern alpine hut that is just below the peak. We have ‘Lagerplätze’, which means that you have to bring a ‘Hüttenschlafsack’ (if you don’t yet have one you can buy it at the Alpenverein Shops, in sport shops, and usually the huts also sell them). The way down is via Hundsböden – Rauchtalsattel and Häuselalm back to Bodenbauer.
