Description :

Not new, but always nice around this time of the year...

A reasonably long hike (approx. 7 hours walking time in total) starting at Weichtalklamm and finishing at Puchberg, walking a semi-circle around Schneeberg (about 1000 m elevation gain).

We take the train and bus to our departure point at Weichtalhaus (please make sure you have your Öbb Vorteilscard) from where we hike to Kienthaler Hütte through the lovely Weichtalklamm (some ladders, a bit of scrambling, but no exposure). We continue up and around Schneeberg from there to Edelweißhütte, from where we walk in a wide arch to Puchberg via Mamauwiese and Sebastian Wasserfall. We return to Vienna by train.

Technical requirements :

T2, Rough areas, broken rocks and boulder fields are not a problem for me. I am sure-footed and free of dizziness

K2, 4-7 hours / day; up and down
