Wildfährte via ferrata on Rax on 10 June 2023

The route leads through an impressive and less explored part of Rax - from Hinternaßwald via Wildfährte ferrata to the top of the mountain - Heukuppe. The ferrata is rated B, and also there are some climbing points up to 1+. After the top of the mountain is reached, we should descend from Karl Ludwig Haus to Habsburghaus and via Peter Jokel Steig back to the starting point.

As the hike is strenious, with duration of some 9 hours and significant altitude gain of some 1300 m, only fit, sure-footed people, well experienced with ferratas of at least B level of difficulty and with certain climbing skills should sign up.

The hike date is flexible - dependent on weather - it may be shifted to other date (or canceled) if the weather is not good on the selected date.

Preferably by car.

Public transport option is possible, but more difficult - there is no public bus option from Hinternaßwald in the afternoon during the weekends and holidays.
