Winter hike to Gloggnitzerhütte from Kesselgraben (in the Rax mountain, without going to the top - we approach the hut from Höllental and our final stop will be the Gloggnitzerhütte).
The hut is located at 1552 m and if the snow lasts until next weekend (fingers crossed), we will need snowshoes to go up.
It is a one-day hike that will take approx. 2.5-3.5 hrs up and 1.5-2hrs down, so a maximum of 5.5 hours walking time.
The hut will be open on the weekend so we can stop there for a break once we reach it.
They do not provide food other than soup, so we will need to bring snacks and enough food for the day with us. They do have drinks though.
The hike will take place only in good weather conditions and low risk of avalanches (<=2).
We will go by car, if enough drivers are registered.
Otherwise by train & bus, the trip takes 1hr 40 mins (one way).
