As snow in the Vienna Wood has become so rare these days, I feel that it's worth staying close-by this weekend and appreciate the transformative white magic on the doorstep.

This is the classic long inner arch hike - Hütteldorf to Heiligenstadt - it's long, though, and I haven't hiked it in the snow before (it's also a trailrunning favourite..;)):

Hütteldorf - Steinhofgründe - Sophienalpe - Hermannskogel - Leopoldsberg - Kahlenbergdorf/ Heiligenstadt

If you would like to join this little impromptu snowy Vienna Woods walk challenge, please let me know by 6.00 pm tonight. The hike will take place if there are at least 5 participants.

We will meet at 9.30 somewhere around Hütteldorf. The hike will be at least 6 hrs walking time only. Details will be sent to all participants; there are inns & huts open on the way.

T1, I can move myself surefootedly on trails and narrow foot-paths
