As the weather for next week is looking reasonably good and fairly warm, let's see if there's any interest at short notice in a hike over the Dürre Wand from Reichental to Puchberg am Schneeberg on the national holiday (Epiphany) on Friday!
A reasonably long (18km, 900m of elevation) but technically straight forward hike, but still only suitable for experienced hikers. I'm not expecting much snow, and I think it will be reasonably warm (but maybe windy), but would still recommend bringing snow spikes (Grödel) and/or poles in case there are some icy patches. Also bring a light packed lunch - the Öhlerhaus is probably open, but is closer to the end of the route, so we'll stop for some lunch along the way, then we can take an afternoon coffee at the hut on the way down.
We will travel by train, and buy an einfach raus ticket, for those who need tickets. Train details will be sent to registered participants.
