No places left - only waiting list places in case someone drops out!

This year's week long summer hike will take place from Sat 5th August - Sat 12th August and will be based on the Sarntaler Horseshoe tour in South Tyrol, Italy, although we will not follow it exactly as described in the literature. Most nights will be spent in mountain huts, but we also intend staying one night in a village.

The distances between the huts are generally not particularly long, although a couple of the days will be longer (6-8hrs). It is though planned to do some "extras" along the way. This allows flexibility, in case of bad weather. It is necessary to have good fitness, experience of and correct equipment for alpine hiking and a good head for heights. We will ask participants who we do not know yet, to join other hikes before the week long hike, to check suitability for this hike.

The participation in this event will be limited to 10 people - 1st come 1st served. Once the limit is reached, a waiting list will be opened. A non-returnable deposit, probably about €50 (but depending on the actual deposits demanded by the huts) will be charged to all participants - the registration is only confirmed upon receipt of this payment.

Further details of the route will be provided to the registered participants, and to others upon request.

Note that in some huts we are staying in rooms, and in some huts the dormitories. Some huts may require that we take half pension. There is no possibility of special requests, regarding the type of accommodation. Participants must generally also join for the whole week.
