Winter practice on 29 January 2023

For the 7th time we will gather to play in snow. As every year we will make sure we didn't forget how to arrest in snow, perform an avalanche search, set up a snow anchor and a pulley systems, etc.

As always we will aim at the first and last ride of the Rax Seilbahn. Our training ground - the basin next to the Otto Haus (precisely at the left side of this webcam) - is around 20 minutes walk from the top station of the cable car.

We depend on snow. If there's no snow at Rax the event is likely to be postponed. While we don't need a perfect weather a very bad one will also cause a postponement.

This isn't a course. If you are looking for one, Alpenverein organizes pretty many winter courses in English and all of them are listed on the main page.

By default by car but the cable car is also reachable by the public transport (a train to Payerbach + bus)
