Friday 9/9: We leave from Vienna in the afternoon, drive to the Mangart saddle and stay overnight in the hut Koča na Mangrtskem sedlu (1906 m). It's about 400 km from Vienna (4h 30 drive).
Saturday 10/9: We go first on the Italian via ferrata (north side, level C, exposed) and then reach the Slovenian ferrata (level B; 1/1+ parts without steel cable). To go down we take the normal route (a bit of scrambling, some parts with steel cable, but no ferrata). We go back to the car and drive to Vršič pass (55 km from Mangart saddel, 1h 20 drive), where we stay overnight at Erjavčeva koča.
Sunday 11/9: We go on the Hanzova pot, a ferrata which goes up the north side to the peak of Mala Mojstrovka (2.332 m) from Vršič pass (1.611 m). Very beautiful and exposed ferrata (B/C level).
We need two cars to reach Mangrat and then Vrsic pass.
