This will be an exploratory hike partly through an unmarked trail and will possibly require some easy scrambling. The hike is suitable for experienced sure footed hikers who feel comfortable walking in rocky terrain. I prefer to do this hike with people whose hiking skills I know.
The hike is a circular route from/to Hinternasswald and will take you to Schneealpe and border to Styria. First we hike up through regular marked trail on Nassriegel and Nasskamm to Amaisbichl (and take lunchbreak). From there we will descend first on the yellow marked trail and then continue on an unparked path through a grassy/rocky crest of Grenzkamm to Kreuzsattel. From there we walk down on a forest road back to Hinternasswald. Overall distance cca 17km
Please take enough water and snacks for the whole day.
Nasskamm can be slippery if the grass is wet, hiking polls recommended. We may also encouter some last bits of snow.
Route will be something like this: https://en.mapy.cz/turisticka?planovani-trasy&x=15.6673280&y=47.7257847&z=14&rc=9jdJ4xM32DfQ0xMWIUbwYhZ-ey05qP370mHT9jc.4eXJ&rs=osm&rs=coor&rs=coor&rs=coor&rs=coor&rs=osm&ri=1048383633&ri=&ri=&ri=&ri=&ri=1048383633&mrp=%7B%22c%22%3A132%7D&xc=%5B%5D
For the conditions you can expect check this route which is longer than the planned hike (we'll skip Sonnleitstein unless we are very fast and very motivated): https://www.bergfex.at/sommer/niederoesterreich/touren/wanderung/81879,hinternasswald-nasskamm-amaissbichl-lurgbauer-grosser-sonnleitstein-retour-26052016/
In case of bad weather the hike can be cancelled or postponed at discretion the organiser.
