Title :
Cancelled: Kirschblütenweg Bike Tour
Date :
Sat 09.04.2022
Type of event :
Bike Tour
Organized by :
Roger Starkie
Description :

The B12 Kirschblüten (Cherry Blossom) bike trail starts from Jois and goes through the foothills of the Leithagebirge to Donnerskirchen. Hopefully we'll hit the time when the cherry trees are blossoming.  There are a few ascents and descents, but nothing too long or steep, and the trail goes along quiet roads and paths. It is practically all on asphalt. The return to the start will be along similar (but flat) trails close by the Neusiedlersee lake. The total distance will be somewhere around 50km, so it is a gentle day of cycling.

The tour will only take place if the weather forecast is good.

We will stop for lunch somewhere along the way at a heuriger or a gasthaus.

Transport Details :

We will start and finish at the railway station at Neusiedl am See. This can be reached from the Hauptbahnhof in Vienna within 40mins, and there is a big and free car park there, so you can come by train or car. Meeting time will be at the arrival time of a convenient train from Vienna. If you come by train, I highly recommend coming to the station in Vienna early (at least 20 mins before departure, as these trains are very popular with cyclists on nice days, and places for bikes are limited).  Details of the meeting time will be given to registered participants.

Max participants :
8
