Description :

Two days winter hike in Hochschwab area, with overnight stay at Sonnschienhütte. Ebenstein in Styria is the most prominent peak in the western part of the central Hochschwab plateau. On a clear day, the free-standing summit region of the Ebenstein offers great panorama of Voralpen, Ötscher , Gesäuse, Dachstein and Saualpe. The participants must be fit enough and prepared/having experience hiking in winter conditions on the mountains using crampons and/or snowshoes.

Day 1: Jassing car park (SH 884m) - Sonnschienalm - Sonnschienhütte (overnight stay)
Day 2: Sonnschienhütte - Kleiner Ebenstein (1,943m) - Ebenstein (2,123m) and back the same way.

The hike can be postponed or canceled in case of bad weather and snow conditions and is also subject. Current pandemic rules will apply, as announced on club website.Currently a 2G certificate is necessary.

Technical requirements :

T2, Rough areas, broken rocks and boulder fields are not a problem for me. I am sure-footed and free of dizziness
