Description :

One-day hike to enjoy the Autumn colors in Schneealpe. We will start from Neuberg an der Mürz and hike the Karlgraben up to the Schneealpe plateau, then continue to the summit of Windberg (1903), the highest point of Schneealpe. The descent to Neuberg is via the Farfelsteig.

This hike is quite long and involves considerable altitude difference up and down (~1300m). Therefore it is suitable for trained hikers with brisk pace.

Please, bring enough water and food for a full day hike. Optionally we can have a break at the Michelbauerhütte on the Schneealpe plateau, and/or in the valley after the hike.

In case of bad weather or conditions, the hike might be cancelled or changed.

Technical requirements :

T2, Rough areas, broken rocks and boulder fields are not a problem for me. I am sure-footed and free of dizziness

Physical requirements :

K3, 7-10 hours / day; up and down
