Date changed from 16th January, due to lockdown rules.  The theory evening will now take place on Thursday 4th February. Of course, this is dependant upon the lockdown regulations in place at the time of the event. "Recognize and Avoid Avalanches"
For Ski mountaineers - Snowboarders - Snowshoe hikers

In this course, you will learn the basics of modern avalanche theory developed by Werner Munter ("3x3") and used as the basis for the Alpenverein system "Stop or Go". The theory of basic avalanche awareness and risk-management (i.e. standard operating procedures) to utilize while planning and touring will be presented on Wednesday 13th January Thursday 4th February in the evening and again on the scheduled day in the mountains.

Note: Requirements: ST2, K1-2, some experience in ski mountaineering or snowshoeing, interest in improving independent and self-assured actions

Until the 11th December only active members of the Alpine Club Vienna may register for this course. After this date, if there are still places available, registrations will be opened to other Alpenverein members.

T2, Rough areas, broken rocks and boulder fields are not a problem for me. I am sure-footed and free of dizziness
