Description :

Hike with crossing of the whole mountain ridge: Göller - Waldhüttsattel - Gippel - Gippelmauer - Mistelbacher Höhe - Obersberg - Schwarzau im Gebirge. Scenic hike offers wide views of the foothills of the Alps, up to the Bohemian Massif, and to the south to the Upper Styrian limestone and Slate Alps and to the Wiener Hausberge to the east.

Day 1: 

Ascend from Kernhof to Waldhüttsattel and to Göller (1766m) or even further on to Terzer Göller (1728m). Descend to Göllerhütte (1442m) - stay overnight.

Day 2:  

Göllerhütte - Waldhüttsattel - Gippel (1669m) - Gippelmauer - Mistelbacher Höhe - Obersberg (1467m) - Schwarzau im Gebirge

Due to a long hike on the second day (1100 v.m. up, 1900 v.m down, 20 km), you need to be fit enough to join.

 

Technical requirements :
T2, Rough areas, broken rocks and boulder fields are not a problem for me. I am sure-footed and free of dizziness
Physical requirements :
K3, 7-10 hours / day; up and down

Transport Details :

Public transport hike:

Day 1 (Saturday): Depart from Vienna with a train at 7:30 from Wien Haupbahnhof. In St. Polten change to Regional bus to Kernhof. 

Day 2 (Sunday): In Schwarzau im Gebirge we will take a bus to Pernitz and then a train back to Vienna.
