The Jochart is a lesser known mountain (altitude 1266m) in the Gutensteiner Alps offering a perfect circuit for a snowshoe tour (assuming sufficient snow!).
We will do this tour (or something similar).
It is of medium difficulty, so is suitable for any reasonably fit hiker, even those who have not yet tried snowshoeing. Difficulty level SSW1.
After the tour we can go for some food or at least a drink in the restaurant in Rohr am Gebirge.
If the weather forecast is bad for this day, the tour might be postponed to Sunday 2nd Feb. If the weather is good for this day, but insufficient snow for a snowshoe tour in the Jochart, then we will either do the tour as a normal hike, or change the location to somewhere we can do a snowshoe hike (at the discretion of the trip organiser!)
This tour is unfortunately only feasible by car. Please indicate during reservation if you can offer or require a lift. If you can offer a lift, please indicate in the notes your preferred meeting point. Transport will be coordinated by trip organiser and participants will be informed a day or two before the event.
