Description :

To ease into the New Year ..'gemuetlicher', half-day Wienerwald hike by public transport: Tullnerbach - Troppberg- Purkerstorf. In good weather, we'll climb up the Troppbergwarte for some nice views at the top (open all year, according to online- information..)

Please do wear sturdy and lugged walking boots, though, the Vienna Wood hills can be treacherously icy at this time of the year!

Social walk, open to non-members, 4 - 5 hours total net walking time.

Technical requirements :

T1, I can move myself surefootedly on trails and narrow foot-paths

Physical requirements :

K2, 4-7 hours / day; up and down

4 - 5 hours net walking time, 300 m elevation gain

Equipment :

Sturdy boots, the usual waterproof & warm clothing, water, snacks.

Transport Details :

Meet at Westbahnhof, short train ride to Tullnerbach. Return by train from Purkersdorf Sanatorium.
