The Lobau is a Vienna floodplain on the northern side of the Danube. The majority of this area belongs to Vienna but it partly stretches into Lower Austria. It has been part of the Danube-Auen National Park since 1996 and has been a protected area since 1978. It is well known for its diverse fauna and flora.
The main idea of this trip is to cruise around Lobau and visit some not so well known, picturesque places. Hopefully we will spot some wild animals like wild pigs, turtles, dear or even beavers on our trip. We would not like to meet with any of the billions of mosquitoes that can be found there later in the year.
