Easy but long hike around the Lainzer Teirgarten - there are some uphill stretches and a bit of altitude to cover, though ( approx. 500 m 'up-and-down' in total).
Starting from Weidlingau (a few S-Bahn stops from Westbahnhof), we leave out the first few miles along noisy roads (the stretch between Huetteldorf and Weidlingau), and walk towards 'Laab im Walde' along a mostly quiet forrest route. Lunch break scheduled after around 3 1/2-4 hours walk at 'Gasthaus zur Schieszstaette', having covered at least half of the route.
Please be aware there are no opportunities to stock up on water or snacks until then, so please bring enough supplies with you.
After lunch, we will walk along city-facing pathways & hopefully catch some nice views of Vienna before finishing the (almost) circular walk at Wien Huetteldorf (unfortunately, all the rather attractive-sounding 'Heurigen' inns en route for another coffee opportunity are closed for winter break, but I am sure we will find somewhere in Huetteldorf to finish off the hike).
