Description :

Day 1: A long hike from Lunz am See (600 m) over Dürrenstein (1878 m) to Ybbstalerhütte (1344 m). Approx. 7 hours hiking.

Day 2: Ybbstalerhütte-Noten-Ybbstalerhütte-Lechnergraben-Lunzer See (swimming possible but brrrrrrr). Approx. 6 hours.

The hut on the Ötscher is closed therefore my original plan is not possible.

Technical requirements :

T2, Rough areas, broken rocks and boulder fields are not a problem for me. I am sure-footed and free of dizziness

Physical requirements :

K3, 7-10 hours / day; up and down

elevation gain : Day 1, 7-8 hours with an elevation gain of about 1100 meters. Day 2, 5-6 hours

Equipment :

Sturdy hiking shoes, clothing in case of rain, wind or cold. Lunch for Saturday. Sleep sack for the hut. Drinks and snacks for the trail. Swimgear.

Transport Details :

Driving time to Lunz am See approx. 2 hrs. We will leave Vienna early on Saturday morning (about 7:00) and should arrive back in Vienna on Sunday around 20:00 if travelling by car. More specific time and locations for meeting will be sent when we know who will be driving.
