Description :

This is a repeat performance (or a variation of it) of a hike offered a little while ago - we decided that it's worth doing it again.

This hike includes an overnight stay at the hut on Knofeleben (about 2 hours hike from Payerbach Reichenau station) - I have made a reservation for 8 people (one six-bed room, one double room, includes bedding, 30 Euro per person inlcuding breakfast - but you need to show your AV membership card).

Day one/ Friday: late afternoon start - we will leave Vienna around 3 pm, take the train to Payerbach, hike to the hut (2 hours). Dinner at the hut (very nice home cooking).

Day two (Saturday) : Long day hike up the Schneeberg peak (2000m) via Krummbachsattel, descending to Losenheim or Puchberg am Schneeberg (details will be confirmed later). Train back to Vienna from there (approx. 6-8 hours walking time on that day.

Technical requirements :

T2, Rough areas, broken rocks and boulder fields are not a problem for me. I am sure-footed and free of dizziness

Physical requirements :

K2, 4-7 hours / day; up and down
