Description :

One day hike from Spital am Semmering to the Kampalpe via the Probststeig and down to Mürzzuschlag via the Grosse Scheibe.

Only suitable for fit hikers.

There is a small hut on the Grosse Scheibe, but please bring some snacks and a small lunch anyway, as this is quite late in the tour and I don't know the hut (how big, how busy, how much food they offer etc).

Technical requirements :

T2, Rough areas, broken rocks and boulder fields are not a problem for me. I am sure-footed and free of dizziness

Physical requirements :

K3, 7-10 hours / day; up and down

Equipment :

Good hiking boots with ankle support, warm clothing and waterproofs, lunch, drinks (including hot drinks if the weather is cold). Usual equipment for alpine hiking.

Transport Details :

We will travel with the RJ553 train which leaves the Hauptbahnhof at 6.58 and Meidling at 7.05am. Please buy a single ticket to Spital am Semmering. Those leaving from Meidling can meet at 6.55 by the ticket machines, and we will go to the platform at 7.00. Those getting on at the Hauptbahnhof will meet in the train (please sit near the front of the train).

Return from Mürzzuschlag with Railjet train - trains leave every hour.

Any changes and more details about the transport will be sent out to registered participants. Please do not just turn up at the station without having registered!
