Description:
We will walk through the oldest part of Gumpoldskirchen along the famous Heurigen and the historical houses built during 16Th and 17Th century uphill to the Kalvarienberg. This pilgrimage site was built at the end of the 19th century because the thankful locals were saved from the Cholera-Epidemia in 1856.
On the hill we will have a wonderfull view over Gumpoldskirchen and the vineyards.
After a little rest we will start going downhill again and continue our hike along the 1st K & K Water Supply Line until Baden.

Length of activity, difficulty:
-- Easy! About 3-4 hours.

Meeting point and ending point:
-- Wien Landstrasse (Wien Mitte) on platform 3 / 4 (The station is under construction. All trains maybe leave in both directions only from these platforms. It could be that meanwhile the platforms 1 / 2 will be already finished and suddenly we have to meet on the other side. Please listen also to the loudspeakers on the platform.) - You have also the possibility to catch the train in Suedbahnhof, Suedtirolerplatz and Meidling. Please check the time yourself. -
Every half hour xx:01 and xx:31 you can go back in about 21 minutes with a regional train to Wien Meiding.
The end of the trip will be in Baden.

Meeting time: 09:40, train will leave at 09:53
Ending time: Late Afternoon/ Evening

Public Transportation:
We will take the train.

Driving Instructions:
If you like to come by car, please wait at the train station in Gumpoldskirchen.
If you want to go back to Gumpoldskirchen in the afternoon you should take care for the right train. In Baden you will find the timetable in the hall. You can also phone 051717 and afterwards 41. It’s the information number (call-centre) from the OEBB.

Recommended Equipment:
although it will not be difficult you need good shoes with rubber sole.
Sun-glasses, Sun-hut, Sun-cream, drinks and food because we will not stop for lunch.

Comments:
Those who have a Vienna-Ticket pay only from Vienna-Liesing.
