Date:  Saturday,  5th April,  2008

Description:
A pleasant walk through woodland & over 2 minor summits. We start at  Natterbauer ( just south of Gutenstein) & walk up the road until it turns into a track. About 1 hour later we will contour round and up to Schoberkapelle which we reach in 40 minutes and take a break with fine views. Then up the easy ridge and over the tops of Schober & Öhler before descending to Öhlerhaus for refreshments. Then down an easy path to our starting point.

Length of activity, difficulty:
Up to 5 hours of walking including 800 metres of ascent. No real difficulties except for slippery tree roots.

Meeting point and ending point:
Natterbauer park place, south of Gutenstein.

Meeting time: 9.00am
Ending time:  5.00 pm

Public Transportation:
Train from Sudtiroler platz at 6.36 (2 changes) reaching Gutenstein at 8.28. Return at  18.34 from Gutenstein (1 change). We will have to arrange a car shuttle from the station to Natterbauer.

Driving Instructions:
Take A2 as far as junction 38 then follow direction Markt Piesting/Pernitz. Continue on to Gutenstein. Turn left in the centre over the river and follow signs towards Mariahilfberg but do not go up the hill to it but follow the left road up the valley to Natterbauer where there is parking on the left just after the road forks.

Car sharing:
I can offer lifts for up to 3. Any other offers gratefully received. I will co-ordinate between offers and requests for rides.

Recommended Equipment:
Waterproof & warm clothing. We are only ascending to 1200 metres but the time of year means we could expect any conditions. Lugged-sole boots.
