Leopoldsberg (425 m)
Hike in the environs of Vienna suggested by: Fritz Frantal,
Date:
25th April 2004,
Meeting time
10.00 a.m. Nußdorfer Platz at the underpass of the train on the left side of railway station.
Description:
Easy hike, abt. 4 hours walking time, end of the tour depending on the time we spend at the heurigen. Just for your information - most of the paths are asphalted or paved although we walk in wooded areas and along vineyards. We start our walk along the Danube to Kahlenbergerdorf, walk up the “Nasenweg” to Leopoldsberg (a little steep with very nice views), continue to Josefinenhütte where we can have lunch. Then we go on to Kahlenberg, and follow again the Stadtwanderweg 1a direction Nußberg.
I have planned another stop at Heuriger “Hirt” at Eiserne Hand. Thereafter we walk down Muckental and Beethovengang to Nußdorf - or we can also choose to go to Grinzing – there is tram D from Nußdorf or tram 38 from Grinzing back to city center.
It is better if you come by tram, then we are free to end in one of the two places – and if you like we can go for another glass of wine.
Equipment:
It is not necessary to wear heavy hiking boots, any sport shoes with good profile will be suitable. Bring rain coat, jackets, drink etc. If the weather is questionable pleas call me. Mobil phone
