(Casual Hike for November)

Date: November 11^th, Saturday.

Route:

Starting from the Bahnhof stop, we walk by Burg Kreuzenstein, and onto the Gasthof Goldenes Bruendl, which lies in the middle of Rohrwald (2 km north of Burg Kreuzenstein.

We will stop for lunch/refreshments for about one hour. We will then continue on toward Höhlberg, following a nature trail. We should see a small canyon just off the path and may (depending on the weather) stop in and see it before we continue on to Michelberg. (1 hour walk, lunch, then 1 3/4 hours to M.berg)

Then we will head back toward the Gasthof, and then back to the train station (about 1 3/4 hour back)

Height Difference is 200 meters.

Meeting point and ending point: Bahnstation Burg Kreuzenstein.

Meeting time: 11.00 at the Bahnhof station.

Car Connections: Take A22 Donau Ufer autobahn to Korneuburg, exit at Korneuburg and take B3 toward Stokerau. Follow this road about 2.5 kilometers, were you will see the Schnellbahn Stop. If you cross the road toward Harmannsdorf you have gone too far.

Public Transport Connections: Arrival in Leobendorf-Burg Kreu

Equipment needed: Usual equipment for hiking/walking in November.

Solid hiking shoes (withstanding some moisture), raincoat, drinking bottle, some food, suncream (hopefully we will need it!), sun glasses, cap or hat, perhaps light gloves, remember… take along warm clothing !!
