Karnischer Höhenweg
7-day hike, Karnische Alpen, Kärnten/Osttirol, Italy

Route:
From hut to hut along Karnische Alpen; from (near) Plöckenpaß to
Sillian.
Karnische Alpen are situated between Lienzer Dolomiten and Dolomiten. Often
great panoramic views to both sides to Dolomiten, Großglockner, Großvenediger
etc.
Sometimes the trail is leading right on top of the ridge.
Length of activity in hours/kilometers, elevation:
Hiking on average at 2.000 meters or above, the highest summits (optional) around
2.700 m.
Total Length: appr. 80 km
Grade of difficulty: High alpine tour (H)
No glaciers, but possibly some stretches of snow. At least 4-5 hours walking
per day, at two days at least 8 hours per day.

Meeting point:
Plöcken Haus (some kilometers below Plöckenpaß, Kärnten).
Ending point: Sillian/Osttirol, then back to Plöckenhaus, where
we leave our cars.
Meeting time: Saturday 23rd June, 1.00 p.m., lunch by then already finished!

- OEAV membership required
- Signing up required. Please do so as soon as possible since group size is
limited and we will have to make reservations for Lager at huts.
- Attendance at our monthly meeting in June required, to meet the organizers,
discuss personal skills, abilities and gear requirements.
