Bike Trip Neusiedlersee / Burgenland

Route: Neusiedl - Podersdorf - ferry boat to Breitenbrunn - Neusiedl.

Length of activity in hours/kilometers, grade of difficulty:
Appr. 25 kilometers (or some more, if we like), appr. 3 hours on the bike.
Easy hiking on special bike trails, most of the time even.

Some details:
Lunch at Podersdorf or surroundings, bathing (if the weather is fine and we are in the mood) is possible in Podersdorf or Breitenbrunn.
Ferryboat leaves at 2.00 p.m. from Podersdorf, reservations for groups is necessary, so please register with Tim or me a week in advance.
"Jause" or social drink e.g. at Saliterschenke in Jois, that's a nice Heuriger on the way back to Neusiedl.

Meeting point and ending point: Railway station Neusiedl am See.

Meeting time: 8.50 a.m. (arrival of train from Vienna)

Car connections:
Ostautobahn: from Vienna direction to Budapest, exit Neusiedl.
If you come from the motorway, exit Neusiedl, when you are in the village and drive downhill, at the crossing turn right (the railway station is a bit outside of the village).

Public Transport Connections:
Railway from Wien Südbahnhof (Ostbahn !), departure 8.00, arrival at Neusiedl 8.50 a.m. Limited transport of bikes is possible.

Car sharing: I can offer 3-4 seats, but without bike transportation.

Equipment needed:
Bike and everything going with it. Weather could be hot or chilly so take care. Don't forget enough drinks, suncream, sun glasses … bathing clothes.
Bike rental possible at railway station Neusiedl or in the village. Hotel Wende e.g. normally has enough in stock (phone 02167 81110).

Additional Remarks:
Registration one week in advance, since we have to make reservation for the ferry boat!
