Description:
Start at Preiner Gscheid, walk up to Holzknecht Haus (Neue Seehütte) via Waxriegelhaus, Göbel Kühn Steig (difference in altitude-ca.600m, about 2.5 hours). There we wait for it to get dark (about 5pm.), then we walk over to Karl Ludwig Haus (2,5km, 200m up, ca.2 hours in the dark). In K. Ludwig Haus we will have dinner (at about 7pm.) Then we walk back down the shortest trail (Karl Graben) to Preiner Gscheid (2km, 800m down, 1,5 hours). This will take us another 2 hours.
Length of activity, difficulty:
Intermediate hike, but surefootedness is a must. About 6 hours.

Preiner Gscheid – parking lot
Meeting time: 13:45
Ending time: 10pm.
Driving Insructions:
A2-Südautobahn, exit Semmering (shortly after ex.Seebenstein), A6- Semmering Autobahn, ex.Gloggnitz, follow the signs to Payerbach Reichenau, towards the end of the village Reichenau there is a roadfork, turn left to Prein, (not to Hirschwang/Seilbahn!!)(about 4-5km past Reichenau), after another 5-6 km you will get to Preiner Gscheid)

Recommended Equipment:
Solid hiking boots, flashlight(s), warm clothes (gloves, hat,…)!! It gets cold after dark! Warm tea is advisable, a little snack and raingear just in case.
