ROUTE – Timing – grade of difficulties:

Friday :      3,5     h           drive from Vienna to meeting place near Gstatterboden

                        1,5-2 h           short hike up  to “Haindlkarhütte” ( 1121 m )

                                               stay over night

Saturday : 

                   3,5-4 h           hiking and climbing “Peternpfad” up to Peternscharte

                                               900 m difference in altitude.

                                               first part hiking, than climbing , mostly 1- to1+, partly 2

                                               climbing length 400 m.

                                               rest at Peternscharte

                        1,5-2 h           down to Hesshütte

                                               lunchtime

                        2-2,5 h           down to “ Johnsbach” passing “Koderalm” to “Ghf. Kölblwirt”

                                   3,5    h            drive home

Meeting point / time :

Friday       18.00 h      at parking place “Haindlkar” between Gstatterboden

                                               und Krumau ( appr. 1,5 km after passing connection

                                               “Johnsbachtal” ) at the right side of the road coming

                                               from Admont.

                                               Then we will bring one car to the ending point of our tour.

Car connections:      two routes are possible, each app.  220 km from Vienna.

                                               Driving time approx. 3,5 hours ( depending on traffic jam etc.)

                                               either         A1– Ybbs- Hieflau- Gstatterboden- “P”

                                               or               A2- Mürzzuschlag- Bruck a.d. Mur- St. Michael-

                                                                           Trieben- Admont- Krumau- “P”

                        I recommend that participants arrange carsharing between themselves !

Equipment :               Equipment for hiking in alpine regions and climbing set  incl. helmet.. All you need to stay overnight . Inner sleeping bag is

                                               obligatory on the hut.

Attention! Participants must be experienced , in good condition and absolutely free

                        from giddiness ! a number of  places are very exposed !

                        Please remember that you participate on your own risk !!!                

                        For this tour is necessary to sign up at our September meeting or before via e-mail :          fritz.frantal@chello.at  so that I can reserve the places at the hut.. Please also indicate your (mobile) phone number! In case of doubtful weather conditions call me until Friday lunch time to check if the tour will take place.
